Preface

This guide provides an alphabetical compilation of the index entries from the Oracle8i on Windows documentation set, Release 3 (8.1.7).

Note: With the exception of the Oracle8i Installation Guide for Windows NT, Oracle8i Release Notes for Windows NT, and Oracle Provider for OLE DB User's Guide, the Windows documentation set for Release 3 (8.1.7) has not changed from Release 2 (8.1.6).

Conventions

Each index entry lists page numbers in one or more books in the Oracle8i on Windows documentation set. For example, this index entry:

Optimal Flexible Architecture, DBA 2-17, COM 2-13, MTS 1-16

indicates that there is information on OFA on page 2-17 in Oracle8i Administrator's Guide for Windows NT, on page 2-13 in Oracle COM Automation Developer's Guide, and on page 1-16 in Using Microsoft Transaction Server With Oracle8.

The index uses a separate three-letter code for each book in the Oracle8i on Windows documentation set. These codes are listed in a legend at the bottom of each page in this index.
