The Resources Home page displays a list of all resources defined for your organization that you have rights to view, based on resource security settings. To group the resource list by resource name, resource team, resource code, primary role, or favorites, select the desired grouping option in the Group By field. To search for a resource, select the resource data item you want to search, such as Resource ID or Resource Name, then enter your search criteria.

Tip: The Resources Home page displays only the resources you have access rights to view. For example, if you group the resource list by resource team, you will only see members of the team that belong to your resource access node. If you have all resource access, you will see all resources. If you have no resource access, you will not see any resources.

From the Resources Home page you can:

Create/edit a list of favorites

You can create a list of favorite resource codes, resource teams, and roles to enable you to quickly access the resources important to you. For example, you can add all the teams you are a member of to your favorites list.

To create/edit your list of favorites:

  1. Click Edit Favorites to the right of the Group By field.
  2. At the top of the dialog, select the type of resource/role data you want to edit: Resource Codes, Resource Teams, or Roles.
  3. To add an item to your favorites, select the desired item in the Available column, then click . To remove an item from your favorites, select the desired item in the Selected column, then click .

View or edit resource details

To view or edit resource details, click on the resource name in the resource list. Select the Details tab, if necessary. Click the available detail links, such as Settings or Codes, to view resource details. Refer to Resource Details tab for more detailed information.

Tip: When selecting a resource, you can select an individual resource (e.g., Amy Smith), or you can select a hierarchical group (e.g., Engineering Department). If the resources are grouped by Resource Code, you cannot select the top-level resource code.

View or edit resource team details

When the resource list is grouped by resource team, click the resource team name to view its details. Select the Team Details tab. Edit the Resource Team Name, if desired. Choose to make the resource team available to all users or only to you. To modify the team members, select the desired resource(s) and move them using the and arrows. To delete the resource team, click Delete Team.

View resource/resource team/role allocation

To view resource/resource team allocation in chart format:

Click the resource or team name, then select the Analysis tab. The Analysis tab displays resource usage and costs for the resource or team in chart format.

Note: You cannot view role allocation in chart format.

To view resource/resource team/role allocation as a histogram or spreadsheet:

Click the resource or team name, then select the Usage tab. The Usage tab displays the resource's or team's allocation as a histogram or spreadsheet.

Delete a resource

To delete a resource, group the resource list by Resource or Primary Role. Locate the resource you want to delete in the list, then click the resource's corresponding Delete link.

Field Definitions

Name
The name of the resource, resource code, resource team, or primary role.
ID
The ID of the resource, resource code, resource team, or primary role.
Role
The role defined for the resource.
Office Phone
The office phone number of the resource.
E-Mail
The email address of the resource.

The Group By field enables you to group the list of resources by Resource name, Resource Code, Resource Team, Primary Role, and Favorites. The resources and resource groups that display are dependent on your resource security settings.

The Search field enables you to search for a resource by Resource ID, Resource Name, Login Name, E-Mail Address, Resource Code Type, Resource Code Value, Resource Code Description, and Resource Team Name. The search results that display are dependent on your resource security settings.
