Readme
Release 11.1.1.3 is a maintenance release for Release 11.1.1.0, 11.1.1.1, or 11.1.1.2.
This document includes important, late-breaking information about this release of Oracle® Hyperion Provider Services. Review this information thoroughly before installing Provider Services. For overall Enterprise Performance Management System install-related issues and updates for this and other EPM System products, refer to Oracle’s Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management Installation and Configuration Readme.
Also included is information on Oracle Essbase Visual Explorer and Oracle Business Intelligence, Enterprise Edition as it relates to Provider Services.
Information about system requirements for EPM System products is now available in a spreadsheet format in the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Certification Matrix. This matrix is posted at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/hyperion-supported-platforms.html. · 8418804, 7685570, 8610082 - In Smart View, HSGETVALUE performance is slower in release 9.3.1.2 than in release 9.2.0.
· 8418747, 7615604 - Ancestors are displayed in different positions when you zoom- in versus using member selection.
· 8418741, 8282497 - Using HSGETVALUE with cell references on sheets with multiple points of view locks up all open connections.
· 8425994, 7263346 - In Smart View, submitting #missing using HSSETVAL returns an “Empty String” error message.
· 8222756 – The Smart View Client error message "Duplicate member outline is not supported in Cube View" should say "Duplicate member outline is not supported in Smart Slice."
· 8259603 – In Japanese language Administration Services, a Provider Services password dialog box is displayed in English rather than Japanese.
· 8222756 – The Smart View Client error message, “Duplicate member outline is not supported in Cube View” was corrected to say “Duplicate member outline is not supported in Smart Slice.”
· 7460618- In Oracle BI EE, if certain dimension types are included in the Smart Slice definitions, you may get the following error (Smart Slices that do not have these dimensions can be created successfully):

Please fix the metadata consistency warnings.
· 7482599 - In Oracle BI EE, you cannot drag and drop dimensions from the POV toolbar to columns in ad hoc grids.
· 7366209 - Visual Explorer queries from remote computers are excessively slow.
· 7244220 - You may get an unexpected out-of-memory error on a Visual Explorer report.
· 7426030 - When you browse members in Smart View Member Selection, you get an error message, “Cannot query members by name. Analytic Server Error (1060200): Cannot uniquely identify a member…” if there are duplicate alias names.
The following issues are the noteworthy known issues of this release.
· 6967727 - The QueryVaryingAttributes.java sample program points to a "basicVA" database that does not exist.
· 8207401 –During ad hoc analysis in Smart View, if you change POV values from base values and refresh, refresh works as expected. However, if you then enter free form mode and refresh, all POVs are set back to base values. Workaround: Select or reselect the POV members after all free form processing is done.
· 8209238, 8209205 - When Provider Services is running on a system with locales other than English, users may get an encoding-related error, for example, “Invalid byte 3 of 3-byte UTF-8 sequence.” Workaround: Set the default encoding to UTF-8 as follows: Ensure that Provider Services is started with the JVM property -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8.
· 8244313 – In Smart View, if Repeat Member Labels Suppression is enabled in Smart Slice preferences, incorrect data may be returned when you refresh after performing an Excel delete. Workaround: Finalize the grid layout and then enable the Repeat Member Labels Suppression option.
· 8252820 – If you launch Smart View from a Planning web form using the Open in Smart View menu option, you may get an error when you try to submit data.
If you use Oracle BI EE with Provider Services, Oracle recommends that you increase maximum heap size to 512M.
This section describes additional items, updates, and deletions that are not yet part of the Release 11.1.1.3 documentation.
The following file should be included in the sample program list under Understanding the Sample Program in the Setting Up the Sample Programs chapter:
· KillOwnRequest.java, kills a running request issued to an Essbase application server from the same user session.
