6.1.1 Restricted Use Licenses

The following restricted use licenses are available when you license WebCenter Suite:

  • Secure Enterprise Search allows you to search and index any content stored in the content repository, as well as any page delivered as part of a WebCenter Suite application or portal. If a page includes portlets, the information delivered within the portlet can be indexed as part of the search results as well. However, if you want to search and index all of the information in the backend system that supplies portlet content, you will need a full-use license of Secure Enterprise Search.

  • Universal Content Management Content Repository stores all content that is delivered as part of a WebCenter Suite application or portal. This includes base content management features, such as versioning and rendering different renditions of content, as well as indexing content in the repository for integration with search results within the portal or application. All interactions must be done through the WebCenter portal interface or Desktop integrations, with the exception of the Universal Content Management (UCM) administration activities. Specific UCM components and features included are:

    • Content Server

    • JSR 170 interface for Content Server

    • URM Adapter for Content Server

    • Content Integration Suite

    • Content Portlet Suite

    • Desktop Integration Suite

    • Dynamic Converter

  • BPEL Process Manager is restricted to running existing deployed processes and responding to requests that require user input delivered inside of a WebCenter Suite application or portal. The modification of document BPEL processes included with the content repository can also be integrated with existing BPEL processes. The pre-built portlet, which enables viewing of a user's worklist items from any combination of backend BPEL servers, is also included. The creation of any new BPEL process that does not include content from the content repository requires a separate BPEL Process Manager license.

  • Presence is used to indicate the availability of users within a WebCenter Suite application or portal. In addition, it allows for these users to use the SIP servlet to deliver presence in any type of application, including components to set up and tear down SIP-based calls. Oracle Communicator, which allows for instant messaging using text, voice, and video, is also included. Presence is restricted to 50,000 user entries per presence server. PSTN gateway components are not included and must be licensed separately.
